Tour Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, your private guide will receive you with warm hospitality and transfer you to your hotel in Kigali. Take the opportunity to acclimate to this vibrant city by exploring its cultural treasures. You'll delve into Kigali’s bustling markets, visit art galleries showcasing local talent, or indulge in delicious Rwandan Cuisine at a renowned restaurant.

After breakfast, you’ll embark on a Kigali city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where you’ll learn about Rwanda’s history and pay tribute to its victims. After lunch, your driver will take you on a scenic journey to Volcanoes National Park, home to the magnificent mountain gorillas. Upon arrival in Kinigi and check-in at your lodge, you’ll visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where you can engage with the local community, experience traditional dances, crafts, and customs, and gain a deeper understanding of Rwandan culture.

Begin your morning with an early breakfast before heading to the Kinigi headquarters for a warm briefing on your gorilla trekking adventure. You’ll join a small group of eight, guided by expert rangers, as you hike through the lush volcanic rainforest in search of the majestic mountain gorillas. When you meet them, enjoy a magical hour watching and photographing these gentle giants in their natural home. After the trek, visit the inspiring Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Fund, then return to your lodge for a relaxing evening.

After breakfast, head to Volcanoes National Park for your golden monkey trek. These playful primates with shimmering golden coats are a joy to watch, and the trek is shorter and easier than gorilla trekking. Afterward, drive to the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, set against rolling hills and volcanoes. Enjoy a scenic boat ride, a guided nature walk along the shore, and spend a peaceful night surrounded by the beauty of Rwanda’s tranquil countryside.

After breakfast, you will drive back to Kigali. Upon arrival, enjoy a short city tour including a visit to Kimironko Market, where you can shop for local souvenirs. Later, you’ll be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your unforgettable Rwandan safari.
