This one-day gorilla trekking tour takes you from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park for an unforgettable encounter with mountain gorillas. Depart early for a scenic drive to the park, where you’ll receive a full briefing before heading into the forest. After tracking and spending time with a gorilla family, return for lunch and receive your trekking certificate before heading back to Kigali—all in one incredible day.

Tour Itinerary

Your day begins early with a 4:30 AM pickup from your hotel in Kigali, followed by a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park. You’ll arrive by 7:00 AM for a detailed pre-trek briefing at the park headquarters. After being assigned a gorilla family, you’ll begin the trek into the forest around 8:30 AM. The tracking can take between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location. Once found, you'll spend a magical hour observing them in their natural habitat. Afterward, you’ll return to the starting point, where your driver will be waiting to take you back to Kigali. You are expected to arrive at your hotel by early evening.
