After an early breakfast, travel to Akagera National Park, the only place in Rwanda where the Big Five can be found. On arrival, head out on a guided game drive through wide open plains and acacia forests, searching for wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and possibly lions. Later in the day, enjoy a peaceful boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species thrive along the shores. Main Destination: Akagera National Park (Rwanda)

Spend the day exploring Akagera National Park. Start early in the morning to see lions, leopards, hyenas, and herds of antelope while they are most active. You'll rise early for an unforgettable chimpanzee trek in Nyungwe Forest. Follow your ranger through dense jungle, listening for calls that guide you to these energetic primates.
